Places seem to mean something to me — places that have been important in my life, places that have shaped me in some way, places that in my mind have taken on their own identities.
I like to have several projects going on together. When one begins stalling out, I can shift to another, instead of spinning my wheels in a rut.
I don’t buy the notion that ”everyone has a book in them.” I’m pretty confident I’ve met my fair share of people who don’t. However, many people do.
Lots of people find golf boring. Boring to watch, boring to play (or try to play), boring to read about. Golf is like a bug bite, though — if you’ve been bitten, you’ve got it, and it won’t go away. And if you are one of these people, like I am — well, then golf becomes uniquely interesting.
Adding to the clutter of unnecessary but unavoidable information, here is my “list” of things I would suggest to any other avid reader, and why, in no particular order
I enjoy thinking about the writers who have influenced me, because it takes me back to the excitement and pleasure I experienced when first encountering them
While this seems like a perfectly reasonable question to ask anyone who has taken the time and effort to write a book, it is, oddly, a question I never directly asked myself.
